About Me

Hej,

My name is Abby, I am a junior Occupational Therapy major at University of New Hampshire with a minor in Disability Studies! I am excited to be studying in Copenhagen, Denmark this spring with DIS! I will be taking the core course Child Development and Education in Scandinavia.

I love being in the outdoors and spent a good portion of my summer hiking and belaying at an outdoor rock climbing spot in the Adirondack mountains of New York! I am looking forward to exploring nordic nature and discovering a sense of hygge in a new city!

Saying Goodbye

Just like that, the part of the semester I was dreading the most is almost here. In just 4 days I will be leaving Copenhagen and heading back home to the US. This past week I have been savoring every moment with my host family, biking more, and trying to explore parts of the city I never made it to. There are many mixed emotions when I think about going home. On one side, I miss my family and friends and am excited to be back to my normal life but I will also miss my host fam

Getting Ahead on Finals

As classes are coming to an end in Copenhagen, I have felt a mix of emotions. On one hand, it is bittersweet to be finishing up my coursework. On the other hand, with all of the final projects on my plate I am glad to see the finish line in sight. At DIS, there is a lot of emphasis on group work in a lot of my courses. A Week in Finland

Last week my core course traveled to Finland for our long study tour! We flew out of Copenhagen on Sunday and arrived in Helsinki where we spent a few days before going further north to Rovaniemi and then returning to Copenhagen on Friday. Sunday After arriving in Helsinki on Sunday, we boarded a bus to Nuuksio National Park where we enjoyed a fireside lunch of salmon, potatoes, salad, and broccolini.
